?Overwhelming! Breathtaking!? would be the words used to describe my response to the intricatcies of God?s designs in creation. It is these intricate designs that I deliberately seek to bring forward through macro photography - to reveal these masterpieces of design and incredible intelligence that isn?t apparent to the naked eye, but nevertheless, exists for the display of His glory.

I discovered the same awe-filled response during the years that I scuba dived on the Great Barrier Reef and many other places on the east cost of Australia. The colours (some of which still cannot be replicated by man), the sheer variety of life and the never-ending expanse of the incredible creative genius of our God, would always take my breath away. These masterpieces of design remained on the whole, unseen and unknown to most people, but still they existed for His pleasure and as a testament of His extraordinary wisdom and intelligence. I truly felt privileged to be able to gaze upon these wonders with my own eyes.

As the years have gone on in my walk with Jesus, I also discovered ?intricate design? in all He had architected in my own life and purposeful existence. Just like the creation that I photographed in humbled awe, I also was His masterpiece of design ? deliberate, determined in His heart and mind way before any of the objects I photographed were ever created. Daily mercies, extraordinary kindness and faithful love displayed through God?s frequent interactions in my world, revealed in stunning revelation that every moment of my life is the unfolding of a well thought out and executed specific, detailed plan. His deliberate love responses in astonishing provision and interventions in my life all bear the marks of ?intricate design?!

King David exclaimed, ?We are fearfully and wonderfully made!? How awesome it is to know we are intricately, uniquely designed. And how awesome it is to look back over the chapters and seasons of our lives and to see His intricate design!

GIFTS IN HIS HANDS

Creativity stems from the very nature of our God who spoke into being the entire universe with unfathomable insight and incredible creative genius! It makes sense that we, the pinnacles of His Creation, emulate Him in creativity. Even young children begin to demonstrate the God-given creative giftedness in their play in such a way that it becomes apparent what their individual gifts and talents are.

Whatever our gifting is, when it has been dedicated and given back into God's hands, His breath and favour catapults that gifting to higher and more far-reaching levels of influence and blessing. Our greatest satisfaction then is not in the celebration of our giftedness but in the great fulfilment of experiencing the results of our creativity going beyond natural gifting to extrordinary supernatural dimensions as the Sprit of God is granted inspiration and expression through our gifting! Creativity birthed this way by God's Spirit, has eternal value and impacts people to such a degree that their hearts are turned to the Lord in a deeper way! What a priviledge that is!

Lord, we surrender our gifts again into your hands, use them for Your glory. Anoint our gifts in more profound ways as we yield to Your spirit and draw on Your creative inspiration. Amen.
